Better defining geological deposits in three dimensions

Dr. Doug Oldenburg is a Professor in the Department of Earth and Ocean Sciences and an expert in electromagnetic geophysics. Dr. Oldenburg, and his colleagues, developed software that is able to interpret geological survey data in order to better define geological deposits in three dimensions. These advances have garnered the interest of large multinational oil companies and led to a significant non-exclusive license in 2016
